What to expect
Taking the first step into counselling can feel daunting, especially if you’re not sure what to expect. My aim is to make the process as comfortable and supportive as possible.
In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and exploring what has brought you to counselling. You don’t need to prepare anything—we’ll go at your pace. This session is also a chance for you to ask questions and see whether my approach feels right for you.
Each session lasts 1 hour and we’ll meet in a private, calm, and confidential space. I’ll listen carefully and without judgement, supporting you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Together, we’ll begin to understand what’s happening for you and consider ways to move forward.
Counselling is a collaborative process, and there is no “one size fits all.” Some people come for just a few sessions, while others find longer-term work helpful. We can discuss what feels best for you as we go.
For those unable to attend the clinic—or who prefer to work this way—I also offer online sessions via video call, as well as counselling by phone. These options provide the same supportive, confidential space in a way that suits your needs.
Above all, you can expect warmth, respect, and a safe space where you feel heard and understood.
