Hello

Hello, I’m Phillipa, and I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. For the past 18 years, I’ve
had the privilege of working with children, young people and young adults across many
different local educational settings (including grammar schools, state schools and the
independent sector) as well as those I have supported in my private practice. Each stage of
life brings its own challenges, and I feel honoured to walk alongside people as they navigate
them.
Although I am known more for my work with young people my support also extends to
adults of all ages, including older adults who may be facing difficult transitions. I’ve
supported individuals in care homes, helping them adjust to change and find comfort in
times that can feel overwhelming. What inspires me most in this work are those small yet
powerful moments of connection and growth—when someone feels truly heard, understood,
and supported. This is so valuable at any age and fundamental to my counselling work.
I believe counselling is not just about talking, but also creating a safe and compassionate
space where you can slow down, reflect, and discover new ways of moving forward. My
approach is grounded in empathy, patience and the belief that everyone has the capacity for
resilience and change.
Outside of counselling, I try to practise what I encourage in others—finding balance and joy
in everyday life. For me, that often means long walks outdoors, time at the gym (especially
yoga), music and books, and socialising with friends. These moments remind me of the
importance of connection, reflection, and self-care, values I carry into my work with clients
every day.
If you are considering counselling, please know you don’t have to face things on your own. It
would be a privilege to walk alongside you, at your pace, as you take steps toward healing,
growth, and greater well-being.
